Eddie Simcha first became interested in the mental health field while earning his Associate’s Degree at Kingsborough Community College. During his undergraduate years, Simcha worked at a residential program for individuals with severe mental illness and addiction, with the long term goal of reintegrating them into their communities. Under the guidance of his first psychology professor, Simcha applied for his Master’s Degree in Social Work at Hunter College. Throughout his time in graduate school, Simcha continued working at the residential program. Over twelve years, he rose quickly through the ranks, beginning as a case manager, and becoming the Program Director. Simcha's aforementioned professor-turned-mentor hired him as a psychology professor at Kingsborough Community College, where he formed trusting and supportive relationships with his students to enhance the future of the mental health industry. As Program Director of two New York State licensed clinics, regulated by the NYS Office of Mental Health, Simcha oversees 60 mental health professionals who provided services to over 400 individuals on a weekly basis. Simcha's personal development of clinical services creates a culturally sensitive program which offers services to a range of communities, specifically those which lack adequate resources.
Richard's early interest in mental health treatment led him to pursue his Bachelor’s Degree at Touro College, and subsequently, his Master’s Degree at Touro’s School of Social Work. While there, he gained a solid clinical foundation by interning at Door of Hope, a community residence for individuals who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness, often, dual disorders. After graduate school, Richard continued to train within the psychology field, and took specialized psychoanalytic training at the Object Relations Institute, and the Center for Modern Psychoanalysis. After working with Door of Hope for several years, they requested that he assist with the creation of a new clinic where he became the Clinical Program Director. Richard has over 10 years of clinical supervision and has supervised many clinicians in both private practice and in public clinic settings.

My ultimate goal for clients is to create a space for people to be heard and empowered to gain an understanding about themselves and make effective changes in order to better enhance their lives. I utilize CBT-based techniques in working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, and dealing with daily life stressors. I aim to provide a safe space for clients to openly explore their thoughts and feelings, and identify areas in their lives they wish to improve.
